Succes in the Christchurchrace

Since a long time a airrace was organized from London to Christchurch in New Sealand. In october 1953, eight aircrafts departed from London airport for a flight of 19.000 kilometers.

The only civil commercial aircraft was the KLM DC-6A Liftmaster called Dr.Ir.M.H. Damme, who ended as winner in the handicapcategory of the race. Captain was Han Kooper.



 

Plesman and Viruly are present at the arrival of the DC6 and the celebration of this victory.
